Bandon GAA Notes 05-05-2018 - 2018-05-01

Senior Hurling Championship Win

Championship fever has Bandon firmly in its grip presently what with the Senior Hurlers great victory over the more fancied Na Piarsaigh last Sunday in Brinny 2-15 to 0-15

U21 Football

Under 21B Footballers facing O'Donovan Rossa in Ballinascarthy next Sunday at tbc in the West Cork final. We got out of jail against a youthful Newcestown side at Enniskeane in the quarter final but were more value for money over Urhan in the semi final at Aughaville.  Frank Lyons, Robert Moloney and Louise O'Keeffe have done a great job with this side and hopefully we will come through next Sunday and be able to wipe away the disappointment of losing the last two finals at this grade to Kilmacabea and Ibane Gaels.

U16 & Minor

There was disappointment for a very depleted Under 16 Premier 2 Hurling team on last Monday evening when they were defeated 0-6 to 4-15 by Ballincollig in Round 1 of the Championship at Ballincollig our Minor Hurlers recorded a good home league victory over Aghabullogue last Wednesday evening 3-16 to 0-13 and best wishes to many of these players in their state examination preparations over the coming weeks.

Well Done!

Special mention to our dual Minor players Ben Donegan and James Collins O'Brien who were part of the victorious Bandon RFC U18 team that won the All Ireland Final last weekend.

Special mention also goes to the committee that have progressed the re-development of our ball-alley into an All Weather playing facility and lastly special mention also to the committee that over saw the Sky Sports visit to the club last Thursday evening.
