St Stephens Day saw the in-augural Long Puck and Skills competition take place at the clubs grounds and alley-way.

Over 60 players, ranging in age from under 8's to much older took part and it proved a very enjoyable experience for all participants.

Most started with the Poc-Fada in the very well turned out top pitch and moved from there to the hurling wall so as to display their hurling and football skills.

Hitting the football on the bollard with another football kicked from 7 metres away proved to be the game-changer and eventual winner Jason Hickey was coolness personified when he equalled the previous best of 3 hits out of 10 shots and thereby win the overall prize on a score of 196 points.

Others winners on the day were John Buckley at Under 8, Donnacha McCarthy at Under 10, Cathal Lynch and Tim Twohig shared the Under 12 prize, Robert O'Driscoll at Under 14, Mark O'Regan Under 16 and Maeve Lynch was the Ladies winner.

Special thanks to McCarthy Coaches for sponsoring the prizes and the organizing committee of Paudie Crowley, Colman O'Mahony, Peter Murphy, Derek O'Driscoll, Neilus McCarthy, Ian Doyle, Stephen Murphy and the one and only Teddy Buckley.

The AGM of Bandon Underage Club takes place in the pavilion on Friday 9th January at 07.30 p.m.

Finally, Happy New Year to all our hard-working committee's, coaches, player's and supporters and families
