Football Minor

Kilbree 4-14
Bandon 6-06

An amazing personal tally of six goals and three points by Adam Murphy was still not enough to see the Non Exam Minor footballers over the line in an absolute thriller away to Kilmeen/Kilbree last Tuesday week.

Our lads lead 03-04 to 0-9 at half time but went down fighting on a final score of 06-06 to 04-14.

Great praise is due to the teams mentors of Pat Cadogan and Louise O'Regan.

Team: C McCarthy, C Walsh, D Behan, O Hurley, J O'Mahony, A Burns, M O'Regan 0-2, 1 free, O Nolan 0-1, J Daly, L Fleming, A Murphy 6-3, A Coughlan. Their last game at home to Kilmacabea is at 07.30 on 09/06.

News

Bandon Underage GAA club organized the Bandon Primary Schools Football blitz on the 3rd June.

The football blitz, for first and second class, was the final event to practice the player's football skills learned during their weekly Primary School Coaching program.

Over 200 boys and girls, representing the four Bandon Primary Schools (Scoil Phadraig Naofa, Laragh NS, Crossmahon NS and Gael Scoil Na Bandann) attended.

Great enthusiasm and skill was observed as each team played three football matches.

For their fantastic effort, Caulfield's SuperValu sponsored a healthy "goodie" bag for each of the participants at the end of the football blitz.

The young players have been invited to attend their local GAA club to learn more football and hurling skills.

Special thanks to our coaches, referees, Caulfield's Supervalu and the Bandon Primary Schools for supporting this event.

See some photos from the football blitz attached.
