The largest crowd for many the year gathered for the 2013 Bandon Underage GAA medals presentation night in the Pavilion on Friday 7th February.

They had come in their droves to acknowledge the sporting excellence of the many award/medal recipients and to see, listen and learn from Jimmy Barry Murphy the special guest of honour for the ceremony.

They were not to be disappointed as the man himself is special and he has a special aura.

He spoke eloquently and precisely about what it takes for young GAA players to advance their careers and made special mention of one his new Cork recruits and recent graduate of the Bandon Underage structure, the one and only Michael Cahalane.

Jimmy is a gentleman of the highest order and he spoke and posed for photographs with the award recipients and their parents and siblings long into the night.

Special mention goes to Ian Doyle, Club Chairman and MC for the evening and he reminded everyone of the importance of supporting the fundraiser that is the Bandon Underage Prediction League and Caulfields Supervalu the club sponsor.

Hilary ODriscoll Club Secretary and Colman OMahony Chairman of the Adult Club were also on hand to ensure the smooth running of the event.
