Bandon GAA Notes 16-08-2016

Bandon GAA hosted a successful Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp from Monday 8th to Friday 12

August where a record number of 215 boys and girls attended an action-packed and fun-filled

week of activity which revolved around maximizing enjoyment and sustaining participant

involvement in Gaelic Games.

Under the guidance of head coach Mark Sugrue and his excellent coaching staff, the young

players aged from 6 to 13 years old improved their skills in both hurling and football while

practicing their new skills in small sided games.

The Bandon GAA Cúl Camp welcomed the Bandon Ladies Footballers Aideen Lynch,

Sophie Hurley and Nicole Quinn who discussed their recent success winning All-Ireland

Minor Ladies Football with Cork.

The Cork Senior Footballer Stephen Cronin visited the Bandon GAA Cul Camp answering

questions, posing for photos and signing autographs for the young players. Caulfields

SuperValu, who are Bandon Underage GAA Club sponsor, provided healthy goodie bags for

all the young players. 

Bandon Underage GAA club continue to enjoy success on the field providing an active

healthy training program for our local players.

The under 12 footballers recorded a league victory 5-10 to 1-7 over Newcestown on last

Thursday evening.  Best were jack Callanan, Eamonn Twomey, Darragh Collins, Donnacha

McCarthy and Dylan Wilmot.

The under 16 hurlers defeated Ahan Gaels at Enniskeane 1-9 to 3-9 where Olan McSweeney,

Conor Calnan and Robert O’Driscoll were best.

Please support our intermediate footballers on Sunday next in Ballygarvan at 3:00 pm when

they play the fancied Glanworth side in Round 4 of the championship.

This will be the third championship game in as many weekends and it would be some feat to

win this game over this fine Avondhu club.
