Southern Star 18th February - 2017-02-14

With five relatively newcomers starting, the Bandon Premier Intermediate footballers can be very pleased with their 1-14

to 0-11 victory away to Kildorrey last Sunday in the opening round of the re-vamped Division 4 Football League.

Aided by a strong breeze, we led 1-10 to 0-4 at the break and the introduction of 4 substitutes in the second period

ensured a well-earned victory where Eoghan O’Donovan, James Welsh and Jonathon Mulcahy were most prominent.

We host Castletownbere in Round 2 next Sunday 19th February at 3.00pm.

Team Pat Prendergast, Brian Crowley, Peter Murphy, Joe O’Mahony, David Crowley, Cha Dullea, Cian O’Mahony 0-1,

James Walsh, Eoghan O’Donovan 0-2, Philip Crowley, Alan Johnson, Jonathan Mulcahy 0-2, Adam Murphy 0-3, Barry Collins 1-2,

Michael Cahalane 0-3 -2f’s. Subs: Rob Long, Timmy McCarthy, Mark O’Regan and Robbie Moloney 0-1.

Last Sat 11th Feb, 2017, all Cork club Coaching Officers and their invited guests, who took part in our Benchmarking 2020

program, attended the Rebel Og Coaching & Games Benchmarking Conference held in the Nemo Rangers GAA club.

Ian Doyle, Neilus McCarthy and Niall Geary represented Bandon Underage GAA Club.

There they attended 3 workshops presented by Noel Furlong, Brian Cuthbert and Kevin O’Donovan. They were also presented

with a plaque in-honour of our underage club achieving the Benchmarking 2020 Gold Award success in 2016 and the club

sincerely wishes to thank everyone who contributed to this success and it is onwards and upwards to retaining that Gold Status again in 2017.

Bandon GAA club extends congratulations to Aideen Lynch on her selection onto the panel of the Cork Ladies Senior Gaelic Football Team.

She is a credit to herself, to her parents John and Jo and the Bandon Ladies Gaelic Football Club.
