Southern Star 6th May - 2017-05-05

On next Sunday at 3.30pm our Senior Hurlers make the short trip to Brinny for their Pre-Liminary Round of the Senior County Championship against the Muskerry Divisional side.

They are an unknown quantity but we will be put to the pin of our collars to win this all important fixture.

Injuries have plagued the club this year after an injury free 2016 and lets hope some more of our players will be available on Sunday.

Our two recent Senior Hurling League games away to Killeagh (1-22 to 0-13) and Youghal last Friday (1-14 to 1-13) evening should also stand to us.

All support welcomed on the day.

The Junior Hurlers are motoring well but it took a late goal and a flurry of points to overcome Divisional champions  Kilmeen/Kilbree 1-14 to 0-13 last Wednesday evening.

We are away to St Colums on Monday May 8th at tbc.

An under-strenght Minor Football team were defeated 6-14 to 0-11 away to O'Donovan Rossa last Thursday evening whilst the under 16 Footballers were unlucky to go down 4-5 to 3-12 also away to Gabriel Rangers on the previous evening.

It is fair to say that we did not get the rub of the green on the night with plenty of decisions going against the team.

An improvement of sorts then last evening when the under 14 Footballers were defeated at Clonakilty on score of 5-10 to 2-12.
