Minor Hurling League

Bandon                  0. 14

Watergrasshill       2. 15

Bandon were missing ten players for this County A Hurling League semi-final played on Sunday in un-seasonally fine conditions in Watergrasshill. Among those unavailable were seven of the West Cork winning championship starting team. These absentees put Bandon at a huge dis-advantage against a good team like Watergrasshill.

That Bandon were very competitive for so long in this game is down to the great commitment to the cause of the players who bothered to turn out .

The games highlight was an outstanding goalkeeping performance by Cian Farrell . He was quite simply superb and brought off saves of the highest quality. If he can keep up this level of performance  he is really going places.

Watergrasshill thanks mainly to bad wides and good defending only pulled away in the last ten minutes and some of Bandon’s physicality, hooking and blocking was of the highest quality.

All of this years U15’s acquitted themselves well, Cathal Lynch, Conor Twomey , Cian Burke, Niall Desmond, Oisin Doyle and the slightly older Niall Daly and Tony Quinn.

Team : Cian Farrell, Harry Lillis, Ben Donegan, Conor Walsh, Cathal Lynch, Ciaran McCarthy , Conor Twomey , Niall Desmond , Tony Quinn , Niall Daly , Conor Calnan , Cian Burke , Aidan O ' Mahony, Jeremy Collins , Brian O’ Mahony.

Subs. : Oisin Doyle.
