Bandon GAA Notes 30-03-2018 - 2018-03-30

U13 Football League

Bandon’s Under 13 Footballers recorded their second Premier 2 League win away to Mayfield on Monday night in very foggy conditions, Mayfield 1-6 Bandon 7-4.
Mayfield started very well and had 1-1 on the board before Bandon began to settle into the game. This was mostly helped by the strong play of Darragh Collins who finished the game with a massive score of 4 goals from centre forward.
Bandon's defence stood firm in the second half while the forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over with some well taken scores by Darragh Power and Conor Payne up front both finishing with 3-1 between them.
Hugh O Mahony and Substitutes  Liam Twomey and Jack Cullinane accounted for the remainder of the scores.
Team: Donnacha McCarthy, Daniel O Leary, Steven Murphy, Rory O Callaghan, Dan Lane, Sean Ahern, Ciaran Twomey, Danny Crowley, Zac Canniffe, Conor Payne, Darragh Collins, William Allen, Darragh Power, Hugh O Mahony, Jack Coughlan. Subs: Ronan Crowley, Liam Twomey, Jack Cullinane, Jack Murphy, Callum Waugh, Olan O Driscoll.

U15 Football League

The Under 15 Footballers also operating out of the Premier 2 League division had contrasting fortunes in the last week.  On Wednesday 21st March they were narrowly defeated at home to Kilmurry 1-9 to 1-13 having been two points ahead  at half-time but then were heavily defeated away to Aghada on this last Monday night on a score of 5-16 to 1-7.

U16 Football League

The Under 16 footballers were left dis-appointed last Sunday night when Cobh failed to travel and field a team for their Premier 2 League game.  We got the points but there is no substitute for a real game.  The lads now play Eire Og in the Championship on next Wednesday 4th April at tbc.

Premier Intermediate Football League

The Premier Intermediate Footballers recorded a pre-championship confidence building victory away to Castletownbere last Sunday on a score of 0-10 to 1-10 with the all-important goal coming well into the second half.  We now play Dohenys in Charlie Hurley Park on Easter Sunday at 2.30 pm.
