Hurling - Intermediate
Ballinhassig 1-12
Bandon 0-13
On Sunday last in Ballinhassig our Intermediate Hurlers tasted their first defeat of 2015 on score of 1-12 to 0-13 in the Division 1 Hurling League.
We were good value for a 0-9 to 0-7 half time lead with Darren Crowley in top form from placed balls, Joe Harrington and Rory Fogarty were prominent but Donough Lucey was the stand-out performer.
Unfortunatlety, we conceded a soft goal early in the second period which put the home side 2 points to the good and they were able to maintain that margin till the end with a dominant half-back line and an ability to find loose men with a lot of their play.
Team: J MacSweeney, J O'Donovan, J Walsh, J O'Mahony, P Murphy, D Lucey, J Harrington, E O'Donovan, M MacNamara, D Crowley 0-10, 8f's & 1x65m, P Murphy, M Sugrue 0-1, R Fogarty, J Hickey 0-1, C O'Mahony 0-1.
Football - U21 Championship
Castlehaven 2-11
Bandon 1-10
Twenty fours earlier our Under 21 footballers gave hot favourites Castlehaven a mighty fright in the championship quarter final at a moist Clonakilty.
Spurned on by man of the match Pa O'Brien we just came up-short but the club wishes to acknowledge the efforts of the players and the management in ensuring this was a very close run contest.
